Learn General English for 15 or 20 hours per week in our unique creative environment.

You can also add arts, design, communication or fashion courses to your English studies, when you take our English Plus year-round or summer courses.

Why choose this programme?

This programme is ideal for you if:

  • You want to learn English for social, work or study reasons;
  • You want to improve your everyday English language skills and be able to communicate effectively with a variety of people in a number of different contexts.

General English is taught within a creative context. Our teachers not only use standard General English materials but also additional authentic resources around art, design, fashion and communication, for discussions, projects and class excursions.

How long is the programme?

Minimum enrolment is two weeks. There is no maximum enrolment.

When can I start?

Every fortnight on any Monday throughout the year (expect public and Language Centre holidays).

What time are the classes?

15 hours per week: 9.00 - 12.20 or 13.45 - 17.15
20 hours per week: 9.00 - 13.30 or 12.30 - 17.15

Your class may be in the morning or the afternoon depending on your level. You will be given your course timetable on your first day.

How many students in a class?

Average is 12, the maximum is 15.

A2 = Pre Intermediate
B1 = Intermediate/Upper Intermediate
B2 = Upper Intermediate
C1 = Pre Advanced/Advanced

General English 20 Options 2018

General English 20 English with Speaking Skills (previously called English for Communication)

15 hours of General English with an extra five hours per week of tuition focused on speaking, pronunciation and cultural English.

Two weeks minimum, no maximum length.

Start dates every two weeks.

Minimum level of English required: Pre-intermediate

General English 20 with IELTS Preparation

15 hours of General English with an extra five hours per week of IELTS preparation.

Two weeks minimum, 24 weeks maximum length.

Monthly start dates.

Minimum level of English required: Pre-intermediate
